ModernWell Code of Conduct
Last updated: 7/01/2025
ModernWell is a collaborative and inclusive workspace rooted in community, creativity, and mutual respect—values that make it thrive. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all members to help maintain a welcoming and productive environment for everyone. By joining the ModernWell community, you agree to uphold these standards.
Questions? Please reach out to us at hello@modernwell.com.
1. Be Kind, Inclusive, and Respectful
We are a diverse community of professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, and thinkers. Please treat others with respect and consideration at all times. Be mindful of personal boundaries, differing work styles, and identities.
2. Anti-Harassment and Safety Policy
ModernWell is committed to maintaining a space that is free of harassment, discrimination, or intimidation. Harassment of any kind—including but not limited to unwelcome conduct, offensive language, or discriminatory remarks based on race, gender, identity, age, religion, disability, or sexual orientation—will not be tolerated. Any behavior that threatens the comfort or safety of others should be reported to staff immediately and will be taken seriously.
3. Maintain a Clean and Tidy Space
Help keep our shared space welcoming for all:
Push in chairs and wipe down your workspace after use
Load dirty dishes into the dishwasher
Erase whiteboards and return equipment to its place
Throw away or take home any food or personal items
Use garbage and recycling bins appropriately
If you notice anything out of place or needing attention, please let our staff know.
4. Respect Shared Work Areas and Noise Levels
In open community spaces, phone calls and virtual meetings are permitted—but headphones are required, and please be mindful of your volume.
Quiet areas are designated for silent work. Please take all conversations and phone calls outside of these areas.
If you anticipate a longer or more private call, please consider booking a consult room through the member portal or front desk.
Do not use speakers for music or calls in any shared areas.
5. Use Meeting Rooms Considerately
Be on time for your reserved room and wrap up promptly.
If you anticipate needing extra time before or after a meeting, please add a buffer to your booking.
6. Check In Daily
Both members and guests are required to check in at the front desk upon entering the space.
7. Connect and Contribute
We encourage members to introduce themselves and engage with others. Collaboration, conversation, and connection are at the heart of the ModernWell experience. Need an introduction? Just ask our staff—we’re happy to connect you.
8. Guest Policy
Members may welcome a limited number of unique guests per month—based on membership type—to work within the community space for up to two hours.
Guests who visit more than once per month or stay beyond the two-hour limit will result in a day pass charge to the member’s account.
All guests must be registered through the member portal, check in at the front desk upon arrival, and remain accompanied by the hosting member at all times.
Unaccompanied guests will be charged a day pass fee.
Please note: Guests visiting within a reserved private meeting space (such as a consult room or conference room) are not subject to the guest policy during the reservation time. However, if those guests use the community space before or after the meeting, day pass fees will apply.
Guest allowances may vary by location and membership type. If you're unsure of your guest access, please contact us.
9. Use of Shared Equipment and Resources
Please treat all shared amenities—such as office supplies, kitchen items, printers, and technology—with care. Return items to their proper place and let staff know if anything is missing or malfunctioning. Be courteous and avoid monopolizing shared equipment.
10. Membership Access and Boundaries
Access to specific areas and amenities is based on your membership type. Please do not use rooms, resources, or services outside of what’s included in your membership without prior approval from staff. Misuse may result in additional charges or suspension of access.
11. Accountability and Violations
We expect all members to uphold this Code of Conduct. In cases of repeated or serious violations, ModernWell reserves the right to issue warnings, suspend membership, or terminate access. Any behavior that compromises the safety or comfort of the community will be addressed with care and confidentiality.
12. Security, Personal Belongings, and Lost & Found
Members are responsible for their personal items. While ModernWell is a secure environment, we are not liable for lost, damaged, or stolen belongings. Please store valuables mindfully. Lockers are available at both our Minneapolis and Wayzata locations for an additional fee—ask the front desk for more information. Lost items are kept for up to two weeks in our designated Lost & Found; unclaimed items will be donated or discarded after that period.
13. Share Your Feedback
This is your space, and we want to make it better together. Let us know your ideas—big or small! From snack suggestions to tech needs, we value your input. Please reach out to us at hello@modernwell.com.
