Stop Being Easy to Underpay
Hosted by The Wired Foundation
Hosted at ModernWell Minneapolis
Wired Foundation is so excited to kick off the first event of the year on June 16th! Companies often reward boundaries faster than they reward overextension — because overextension becomes expected. This event is designed to change that.
We’re having honest conversations with women about boundaries, compensation, and the hidden ways women become underpaid despite carrying major responsibility and results. You’ll leave with practical strategies, real negotiation scripts, and clear examples of how to communicate your value confidently — without guilt, overexplaining, or burnout.
We’ll also cover strategies for women re-entering the workforce after a career pause or pivoting into a new industry — including how to position transferable skills, address gaps with confidence, rebuild professional credibility, and negotiate compensation that reflects your experience and potential.
Because doing more work should not mean accepting less pay.
Your keynote speakers:
Leah Pitzenberger is a psychologist, former CHRO (eight years, including time at Target Corp), and the founder of A People Revolution, UnleasHer, and Wired Foundation. She spent nearly two decades inside corporate America before realizing she wasn't held back — she was held in. Now she builds the rooms, conversations, and frameworks she wishes someone had handed her ten years earlier. Host of the Unleashed with Leah podcast.
Emily Steuerwald is VP of Talent & Transformation at A People Revolution and brings 20+ years inside corporate HR — including 15 years at Target leading competitive pay analysis and compensation strategy at enterprise scale. She has a rare ability to see what's actually happening inside teams, cultures, and lives, name it honestly, and guide people toward simple, human solutions that actually work.
